Group Home

takes the form of a stand alone house on our property. It is home to fifteen adults with either physical or intellectual disabilities who are able to perform their own self care tasks. Individuals in Group Home has lower support needs than the adults staying in the residence. There is a house mother on duty in the week during the day. There is one additional carer in the house 24 hours of the day. Group Home also provides three meals per day to residents. A vocational programme is run at Group Home that is overseen and planned by an Occupational Therapist. Currently we have three streams in our vocational programme namely:

  1. Shredding-this team offers a paper shredding service to the public that is charged per kg. Shredded paper is also sold. Should you require our shredding services, please complete the form on this page. An email will be sent to our office and we will be in contact with you.
  2. Gardening-this team oversees a vegetable and sensory garden and have completed Farming God’s way training.
  3. Hospitality-this team participates in cooking, baking and basic tasks associated with hospitality.

All funds raised through the vocational streams go back to Group Home.  In addition to the vocational programme, we also have craft projects that gets sold at our annual market. This includes things like cement doorstoppers and planters, Christmas decorations and gift tags. Social interaction is of utmost importance for our residents and for this reason a variety of social events and outings are included in the Group Home programme. We also have an exercise group running twice per week. In the evenings residents play board games or continue with their own tasks like knitting or crocheting.
